A Week of Orange & Black

Literally,

I have been wearing an excessive amount of orange and black… every single day.

But before you judge me for my taste in colours, let me explain:

Last week I made the most exciting discovery (followed by an investment) of

TODDLER CLOTHING IN ADULT SIZES!!!!!!!!!

I purchased my very own TIGER ONESIE!

Jealous?

It is the comfiest, most epic thing I own. And every day when I get home from work I just can’t wait to get into it. I have even considered wearing it to work, but then thought maybe just maybe onesies aren’t included in ‘the regular, every-day attire’ I am allowed to wear to my minimum wage service job. Frankly, I don’t really see why not, I mean, if it were up to me, I would make onesies the new serving uniform! Screw the boring all black or usual white button ups. Can you imagine, going out for dinner and drinks and being served by a bunch of bright-n-fuzzy-animal-suited/onesie wearing waitresses and waiters… I think I’d definitely leave a 20% tip or higher even if the food (& service) wasn’t that great, but then again, I suppose that goes against my beliefs (DON’T JUDGE A GIRL BY HER CLOTHING or anyone ever) but for this one, I might make a teensy exception, I mean, anyone wearing a onesie get’s an automatic gold star in the Heidi book. Welcome to the onesie club. πŸ™‚

Rawr.

So all this week I’ve been chilling out in my tiger suit. I even made a grocery run at 10 O’clock at night wearing it. And my oh my, did I get some looks: up and down, side to side, head to toe, ear to ear, people were startled, puzzled, freaked out… I guess, they had no idea Tigger shopped at SafeWay.

So every evening as soon as I get into my snuggly wuggly fuzzy florescent orange onesie with its very functional button down bum flap, I nestle into the couch to watch another episode (or five) of my NEW FAVOURITE show: Orange is the New Black.

I don’t have an explanation for why these two things have both become integral parts of my life Β in the same week, but it does seem rather fitting doesn’t it?

Hence my week of Orange and Black!

I had heard good things about the show from quite a few of my friends and had been meaning to check it out for quite some time. This week was the week. I had a night of scrolling through NetFlix options, deciding what to watch, and Voila, there it was, speaking to me, saying, watch me, Tiger, watch me! Catch a tiger by tail watch a show about women in jail… or something. Whatever.

Orange is the New Black is AMAZING.

And it is FREEEAKING ADDICTIVE!!!

I watched eleven episodes in three days… I just can’t stop. Luckily, I’ll have to, soon, at least for awhile, because I only have two episodes left to watch in this season.

The writing AND the acting is really really fucking good. The characters are crazy and scary and at the same time all so deeply human, and likeable, and relatable. And I have to admit I’ve never been attracted to Laura Prepon before…UNTIL now, what with her dark hair and thick rimmed glasses, and her incredible portrayal of the bad-ass drug dealing lesbian criminal Alex Vause combined with some steamy makeout sessions and a few adorable spooning scenes with loveable protagonist Piper (played by Taylor Schilling) well, it really is quite titillating!

So this is my recommendation for the week. If you are looking to watch something really engaging and moving and all around epic, check out Orange is the New Black, but don’t forget it’s even more epic if you watch it while wearing a onesie.

Actually, life, in general, is a lot more epic, when your wearing a onesie.

Trust me, I’m an expert. πŸ˜‰
