New youtube video!!!
Also today is my 8th day in a row of going to the gym! YAY new years resolutions! Making a change for the better!
And, today, I ended my love affair with Tortellini…
Just a little jingle I thought I’d share with you all for Christmas! Tis the season after all.
Eat some food, play some fiddle and have a good laugh, won’t you?
I wrote something a little bit more serious for youtube this week… I’ve just been super frustrated by all of the offensive language I hear on a daily basis, and sometimes it is really difficult to stand up to everyone and be labelled “the crazy, angry feminist” or just the “feminist killjoy,” overreacting again! (not that I don’t do it, I just don’t have the guts to all the time). Plus it can be exhausting, and quite disheartening. So, I thought maybe in this format I could reach out to a wider audience. I just want people to realize that words do hurt people. And words can also make a hell of a difference… who knows, maybe these words will influence somebody… or even a few somebodies. (fingers crossed!)
A spoken word piece I wrote about being pansexual…
Just playing away my Monday blues…
I am living in Australia for a year on a holiday working visa….
Here is a spoken word piece I wrote capturing my first impressions… hence the title, it IS offensive, ironic and sarcastic.
I almost forgot to include this masterpiece!
I had the priviledge of being in two of Ray Hsu’s incredibly awesome and boundary breaking courses while at UBC: Asian Canadian Writing and Writers Without Boarders. Both of which I took along side the talented and hillarious Tetsuro Shigematsu- and so while in Hsu’s Asian Canadian course we all combined forces and created this epic music video as a response to Maclean’s extremely offensive “too Asian” article.
Check it OUT: UBC’s Way Too Asian, Macleans
Here is footage from a show I played with the Knackers (a Vancouver based Celtic Rock band). I fiddled with them for about 4-5 months in 2010… but then I just got way too busy with Uni life 😦 They sure are an awesome bunch though!
Performing with the Knackers
I am definitely interested in playing in a band again, and really committing to it this time around now that I am done my BFA!
I thought this would be fitting since it is Haloween and all…
Sharma Quarine means “Beautiful Sister” in Sheidi a language we never finished constructing…
